The Producer Price Index for Finished Goods fell 2.8 percent in October, seasonally
adjusted. This decrease followed a 0.4-percent decline in September and a 0.9-percent
fall in August. Prices for goods other than foods and energy rose 0.4 percent for the
second consecutive month.

The value of quality changes for a sample of nine passenger cars and seventeen light
motor trucks for the 2009 model year included in the Producer Price Index for October
averaged $170.08 for passenger cars and $675.41 for light motor trucks.
