The International Price Program (IPP) produces Import/Export Price Indexes (MXP) containing data on changes in the prices of nonmilitary goods and services traded between the U.S. and the rest of the world.

Next Release: November 13, 2009

October 2009 U.S. Import and Export Price Indexes are scheduled to be released on November 13, 2009 at 8:30 A.M. Eastern Time.

Changes in the presentation of the text section of the U.S. Import and Export Price Indexes news release were incorporated in the edition published on September 11, 2009. There were no changes to the format and content of Tables 1-8. Within the text section of the release, the table previously shown on the front page each month was moved to an interior page of the text section and called Table A. On that table, indexes for petroleum and nonpetroleum imports are no longer included and instead indexes for fuel imports and nonfuel imports are shown. U.S. Import and Export Price Indexes

The U.S. Import Price Index edged up 0.1 percent in September after a 1.6 percent increase in August. The September increase was led by higher nonfuel prices, which more than offset lower fuel prices. The price index for U.S. exports declined 0.3 percent in September following a 0.7 percent increase the previous month. More...
